Even if you are just buying one for a temporary solution, it will eventually demoted from the living room to the family room to the veranda and finally the lives of students. Before you know, a decade or more have elapsed, and that impulse buying has become part of your life. So think before you buy.
quality sofas should feel solid and heavy. Sit on one to test its strength, and lift it by the corner and shake a little. If it feels light or shaky, take a pass. Search a hardwood frame kiln dried as oak, alder, birch, maple or, alternatively, high-quality hardwood or marine plywood plywood. Eight channels, springs associated with the hand is a fine furniture brand, but sinuous S-shaped springs can provide almost as much comfort. Drop-in coil springs are a cheaper alternative.
Most cushions have a polyurethane foam core; the foam density, the heavier it is the more it will last. In the cheapest furniture, the cushion is filled with just the polyurethane foam core. In addition to furniture core is wrapped with batting. superior options include poly-down cushions, who mixed up with the stick; Spring cushions down, springs that have a core surrounded by foam and feathers; and at the bottom, which is all the feathers (and hard work).
Best sofas have seals that are double pinned and equipped with corner blocks which are both glued and screwed (not stapled) in place. quality pieces have legs that are part of the frame, not just attached to it (although removable feet do make it easier to obtain articles through doors).
Buy the sofa in the best quality you can afford. Your purchase will be amortized over several years. Moreover, it is generally cheaper to reupholster a good sofa rather than buying a new comparable quality.

Style
Choose a sofa that complements the style of your home. If your home is traditional, looking for a sofa with rolled arms, a rear profiled, baseboards or tufted cushions. Contemporary sofas tend to have cleaner lines, less frills and unobtrusive furnishings.

Seating space
If you plan to spend a lot of time lying on the sofa to read or nap, make sure it has enough space between the arms. Do not rely on the overall length alone as the width of the arms affect actual space base.

How many people do you want to sit? This may seem a silly question, but the truth is, nobody likes sitting on the crack. So if you get a sofa with two cushions, wait only two people to use it. To accommodate more people, get a sofa with three cushions or long cushion called a seat cushion.

back
Sofas usually come with one of two types of back: a back pillow, which has removable cushions or pillows along the back; or a tight back, wherein the coating is adapted to the contours of the back of the sofa.

Pillow-back sofas are generally considered more comfortable and welcoming, but there is a downside: unless you are diligent with your cleaning, the cushions are generally looking a little lopsided. If you're the kind of person who is driven to distraction by something like this, you may want to consider a tight back.

Depth
regarding the sofas, one size does not fit all. The seat depth and angle of the rear will influence the way you feel comfortable. How do you know how deep is good for you? Be guided by experience. If there is a sofa or chair you find particularly comfortable, measure the distance from the inside of your knee where the lower back hit the back of the sofa, then buy a sofa that has similar dimensions.

Fabric
Since sofas are a big investment, you'll want you to stay as long as possible mode. Since it is preferable to stay with a neutral tissue. You can always add color and pattern with cushions. In addition, the cushions are easy and inexpensive to change if you decide to redecorate.

If you have children and a neutral sofa sounds like an invitation to disaster, consider a darker color or a sofa with a subtle general trend.
In general, synthetic fabrics are more durable, cleanable and unalterable. And tightly woven fabrics that are heavy to resist wear better, as leather will. Avoid satins, brocades and damasks unless the sofa will not get much use.

Regardless or the fabric you choose, ask the store to sample or cup that you can take home on approval before buying. (If no sample is available, ask a cushion). This way you can see the material under the light in your room and other furniture pieces. When you spend that kind of money, the last thing you want is a surprise.
